Overview
Many people know the Stubai Glacier and its ski resort, often associated with busy slopes and crowds. Few realise that with relatively little effort and one abseil, you can enter a completely different world. The reward is a long descent through untouched mountain scenery, followed by an ascent of around 450 vertical metres back to the ski area. The tour can also be perfectly integrated into a ski traverse of the Stubai Alps.

Tour Programme
We meet in Schönberg and travel together to the Stubai Glacier. The lifts take us up to the Schaufeljoch. After an initial descent and a short ascent, we reach the start of the Jakobsleiter. From a small col, we abseil approximately 60 metres towards the south. A long and impressive descent through mostly untouched terrain then awaits us—a genuine highlight. With big smiles on our faces, we begin the ascent back to the ski area.

Meeting Point
Start: 08:00 - Schönberg
End: 16:00 - Schönberg
The stated meeting point, start time, and end time should be understood as an initial suggestion. Before the tour, we will coordinate individually and adapt everything to the current conditions — and, whenever possible, arrange to travel together.
