Overview
The Kasnapoff route on the Second Sella Tower is one of the finest climbs of its grade that I know. With nine pitches and around 250 metres of climbing, it is neither too short nor excessively long. Its main attraction is the sustained steepness despite the relatively moderate difficulty. The rock is consistently solid and offers excellent holds. The route also features the traditional alpine protection typical of the Dolomites. An interesting descent, an easy approach and the spectacular surroundings complete the experience. The tour is an excellent choice for climbers looking for a technical challenge when UIAA grade V is already close to their personal limit. The route follows a very direct line, making it easy to follow. This also allows me to support and protect you effectively throughout the climb.

Tour Programme
The climbing day begins with an easy approach from the pass to the foot of the Second Sella Tower. After preparing our equipment and discussing all the important details, we begin the climb. The route starts with a short but easy traverse, followed by two excellent vertical pitches with plenty of good holds at upper UIAA grade IV. A short ramp then leads to the left, followed by two exposed pitches directly along the edge. This is where we encounter the key pitch: a short overhang at UIAA grade V, which can also be climbed more easily using aid. Three more beautiful, long pitches through cracks and corners lead to the summit of the Second Sella Tower. The descent on the southern side back to the car is not particularly difficult, but it includes two or three short abseils and requires concentration when moving through steep, rocky terrain.
