Overview
The Saas-Fee region is a paradise for accessible 4000-metre peaks and an ideal place to gain your first experience on high Alpine summits. During this four-day mountaineering programme, we climb two of the area’s most beautiful mountains: the Weissmies via its south ridge and the Allalinhorn via the impressive Hohlaubgrat. The programme is designed for fit beginners who would like to climb their first 4000-metre peaks under professional guidance. In addition to two unforgettable summit days, you can look forward to relaxed evenings in mountain huts, a restful night in the valley and an exciting via ferrata.

Tour Programme
Day 1 – Approach to the Almageller Hut: We meet in Saas-Almagell and hike together to the welcoming Almageller Hut at 2894 metres. After dinner, we discuss the following day’s tour. Day 2 – Weissmies traverse, 4017 metres: We set off early and climb the Weissmies via its south ridge, a magnificent mixed route combining rock and firn with spectacular views of the 4000-metre peaks of the Valais Alps. We descend along the northern side to Hohsaas at 3101 metres and take the cable car into the valley. We spend the night at Hotel Bergfreund in Herbriggen. Day 3 – Approach to the Britannia Hut and via ferrata: We travel to Saas-Fee and ascend to the Britannia Hut at 3030 metres. In the afternoon, we complete a nearby via ferrata. The required equipment can be rented directly from the hut. Day 4 – Allalinhorn, 4027 metres, via the Hohlaubgrat: This alpine classic offers an ideal combination of rock climbing and firn ridge sections. From the summit of the Allalinhorn, we enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Monte Rosa Massif and the Matterhorn. We descend to the Felskinn cable car and finish our days together at a relaxed pace. The highlights of this mountaineering programme include two impressive and relatively accessible 4000-metre peaks near Saas-Fee, the Weissmies traverse via the sunny south ridge, the varied Hohlaubgrat route on the Allalinhorn, an itinerary suitable for fit beginners with some initial high-alpine experience, and a comfortable combination of mountain-hut and hotel accommodation.
