Overview
The icefalls in Colfosco offer three varied routes in a spectacular Dolomite setting: “Das Schwert des Damokles”, “Nur für Wenige”, and “Der Dünne Schauder”. The short approach makes the area ideal for an intensive first day of ice climbing. Depending on the conditions, the difficulties are usually between WI3 and WI5.
“Das Schwert des Damokles” impresses with a striking ice pillar in the final pitch, “Nur für Wenige” offers three beautiful pitches around WI4, and “Der Dünne Schauder” starts with a challenging corner right from the beginning. For the following day, we choose another objective in the surrounding area depending on the current ice and weather conditions. Possible options include the Val Culea icefall, the Hruschka corner, or one of the many icefalls in the Langental Valley.
Perfect for anyone looking for an intensive ice climbing weekend in the Dolomites. Accommodation must be organised independently. As a friend of the house, I can highly recommend staying at Apartments La Rives in St. Christina.

Tour Programme
The ice climbing weekend begins either with the journey together to Colfosco or by meeting directly at the Adventure Park Colfosco car park. From there, a short approach along a forest road leads to the icefalls.
Once on site, we decide which line to climb depending on the conditions, your experience, and your fitness level — and whether another variation or route is possible afterwards. The descent is by abseiling from ice threads and partly from equipped abseil anchors.
After climbing, we return to the car, continue to the accommodation, and end the day in a relaxed way over a beer. For the second day, we choose a suitable objective in the region together, depending on the current conditions.
Meeting Point
Start: 08:00 - Kolfuschg
End: 16:00 - Kolfuschg
The stated meeting point, start time, and end time should be understood as an initial suggestion. Before the tour, we will coordinate individually and adapt everything to the current conditions — and, whenever possible, arrange to travel together.
